Choosing the perfect lighting for your bathroom

When we first embarked on building our bathroom, our knowledge of lighting was not as refined as it is today. Initially, we believed that the bathroom merely required ample light—more was better, or so we thought.

Understanding the Nuances of Bathroom Lighting

The early days with our bathroom lighting taught us a valuable lesson: excessive brightness can transform a relaxing environment into something clinical and stark. The initial setup featured overhead lighting, which, while illuminating the room broadly, cast shadows in all the wrong places, particularly when using the mirror—a far cry from the soothing retreat we envisioned.

Transforming the Lighting Experience

In our latest update, we revolutionised the bathroom’s lighting setup. We introduced a wireless dimmer system, which allowed us to adjust the ambiance without needing extensive rewiring. This system offers flexibility, enabling us to dial up the brightness for functionality or tone it down for a more comforting, serene glow during relaxation times.

To address the issue of unflattering shadows, we added wall lights that provide direct illumination where it's most needed. This targeted lighting not only enhances functionality but also ensures that the lighting flatters, rather than challenges, your appearance.
